Planning a trip to Canada? Why not?

What is your plan for the next holiday? Stay at home? Doing sport? Go swimming? Or you might thinking about a big trip? So why don't you planning a trip to Canada?

Here I'm going to show you what is Canada, the culture, socio, history, and of course tourism in Canada. So, let's begin now!

1. What is Canada?
Canada is one of the countries which is located in Northern America. As you can see on the map, Canada territory marked by orange color, and yes, it is bigger than the United States, Canada is the second largest country in the world after Russia.

Canada's flag is consisted of two colors, red and white, with a red maple leaf in the middle. The other name for Canada's flag is l'Unifolié (French for "the one leafed"). Why Canada's flag has a French name for it? Well it is because Canada is a bilingual country with multiculturalism, yes it means Canada has two national language, those are English and French, and people in Canada came from many countries in the world!

Canada consisted of 10 provinces and 3 territories. Canada's capital city is Ottawa, and the largest city is Toronto.
Here are the provinces and their capitals :
 1. Newfoundland and Labrador - St. John’s
 2. Nova Scotia - Halifax
 3. New Brunswick - Frederickton
 4. Prince Edward Island - Charlottetown
 5. Quebec - Quebec City
 6. Ontario - Toronto
 7. Manitoba - Winnipeg
 8. Saskatchewan - Regina
 9. Alberta - Edmonton
10. British Columbia - Victoria

And here are the territories and their capitals:
1. Nunavut - Iqualuit
2. Northwest Territories - Yellowknife
3. Yukon - Whitehorse

2. Canadian Culture
If you come to Canada, it is also very important to knowing Canadian culture and customs so, you could interact in a right way with people there. So here I give you some basic Canadian habit at customs.

- It is customary to shake hands when being introduced, but most Canadians do not kiss or hug when greeting friends (pretty different from people in the United States who usually hug or kiss when greeting friends).

- In Canada, people use their given name first and their surname (family name) last. If you meet someone older than you for the first time, you should probably not use the person's first name. It is safer to use the surname, preceded by a courtesy title such as: Ms., Mrs., Mr., or Dr.
As example :
Formal greeting : "Good morning, Mrs. Smith. Very nice to meet you, my name is Lily."
Informal greeting : "Hello Tom, how are you doing?"

- Mostly Canadians behave quite casually at home.

- Smoking is became increasingly popular and it is not permitted in most public buildings in Canada.

- Canada is relatively free of class or background distinction.

3. Canada and "The Wow Factor"
Why people keep coming to Canada? What makes Canada so special and different from any other countries? So, here are the 'Wow Factor' of Canada...

Tourist Attraction and the Beauty of Canada
Canada is well known as one of the most beautiful country in the world. And these places I mentioned below are the most attracting tourism place in Canada...

Niagara falls located in an international border between Ontario of Canada and New York of the United States. It is receives more than 12 million visitors every single year. Height of the waterfall is nearly reach 52 meters (167 ft), and it is one of the most fascinating waterfall in the world.

Stanley Park - Vancouver B.C.
Visitors come to Stanley Park for a walk amongst the cedars, hemlocks, and gardens or to watch their children in the playgrounds. There are even a few small restaurants scattered within the park grounds.

Canada's Wonderland - Maple, Ontario
Canada’s Wonderland is home to the largest wooden roller coaster in existence in Canada. It’s also the location of the only “flying coaster” in the country – the Time Warp.

Québécois Poutine
Québécois Poutine, one of the most favorite cuisine from Quebec. Made from fries, curd, and gravy, yummy!

Roast Peameal Bacon
Canadian bacon is really popular, mostly in America. Different from American bacon which is high in fat, Canadian bacon is either smoked or unsmoked bacon cut from the boneless eye of pork loin, which has lower fat than pork belly. And the Roast Peameal Bacon of Canada is one of the most well known way to eat bacon. Bacon rolled in a meal made from ground dried peas, and roasted. Look so delicious but unfortunately I can't eat pork!

Smoked Meat Sandwich
Sandwich is American typical food, so you're going to find it in every corner of America, including Canada. Yummy smoked meat sandwich with french fries, pickles, and coleslaw is the most common lunch for every American. Don't you think it is really looks good? Duh, I'm starving (hahaha).

WOW PEOPLE FROM CANADA

Who don't know him? A really great comedian who played in numerous succesful movies such as Mask, Ace Ventura, and Christmast Carol. Mostly people don't know that he is a Canadian, but the truth is, yes Jim Carrey is a Canadian, he was born and raised in Canada.

Howie Mandel
Howie Mandel, the host of the biggest TV game show in the world, Deal or No Deal. Have you watched Deal or No Deal in United States or Canada version? Mandel is the host for both of those version..
"Open the case please..."

Joanie Rochette
Did you watch the 2010 Winter Olympic which was held in Canada last year? I did watch it, and my favorite sport in those olympic was figure skating. Joanie Rochette is the Olympic bronze medalist for figure skating (woman). I really love to watch her on the skate ring, she is pretty and her movements are amazing!
